I have been upgraded to a Sport Climbing Category II instructor. Yay! With this upgrade, I can now conduct Wall Supervisor Course and Instructor Training Course (ITC), while a Cateogory I instructor only conducts Sport Climbing Level 1 & 2 courses.
Last weekend, I co-conducted my first ITC course (as a Category II instructor) with Kim Boon, Chee Mun & Philip.
What exactly do you learn in the ITC? Here it is:
1. Set up anchors, practice multi-pitch climb
2. Setup a releasable Abseil line with a belay rope
3. Introduce to methods on escaping from system
4. Classroom session on anchors, knots, method of instructions, risk assessment management and etc
