rushing through my O-level art installation project, reading david eddings on the long bus journeys home, slipping into movie theatres with the pukoos, in a place where nothing cool/stylish/new/jaded could touch me

at the age of legal freedom, throwing birthday sparklers into the sea, finding out what it means to miss home, jamming with ni in the halls of NTU over canned food, realizing that i shouldn’t let my education get into the way of my learning

recovering from a surgically broken heart, training for everest, sleeping insane hours, thinking of crazy ideas for clients, leaving my hair long
5 things on my to-do list
(1) wait for my sister to come back from the airport
(2) wake up by 7am for training tomorrow
(3) finish ‘no one belongs here more than you’ slowly
(4) meet the pukoo before she zips off to france
(5) remember the death cab concert on the 12th of next month

if i were a billionaire i would
sponsor my team’s everest climb, provide for my family, publish all the stuff i wrote, buy an art studio, buy a good mountain bike, a retro VW van and classic vespa… and very importantly, hire a kick-ass secretary who’ll clear my schedule so no one can bother me when i want to do stuff not on other people’s agendas

With the team, Esther went on to climb and summit mountains in far-flung corners of the world, including Mt Aylmer (2,699m) in New Zealand; Mera Peak (6,476m) in Nepal; Er Feng (5,276m) in China; Mustagh Ata (7,546m) in Central Asia, and Mt Everest (8,850m) in Nepal.
